The 11:11, a new performance venue in the heart of West Hollywood, is set to officially open its doors. Founded in the early 70s and originally called the Globe Playhouse, it was renamed the Macha Theatre in 2000. Now, under the ownership of theatre and film production company An 11:11 Experience, the venue is expanding beyond traditional theatre to include live music, comedy, pop-up art-exhibits, film screenings, and private events.

On Saturday, June 2, at 8pm, The 11:11 will host the theatre’s debut entertainment event, Good Vibes Live, featuring music, dance, comedy, and art. More information on this special evening and a list of participating artists will be announced shortly. Tickets are on sale now at www.the1111space.com.

On Thursday, June 7, at 2pm, West Hollywood Mayor John Duran will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the public is invited. Said Duran, “West Hollywood is thrilled to welcome The 11:11 to the Creative City. Cultural arts and entertainment are central to our image and mission and we look forward to having this new artists’ venue host great performances from across the entertainment spectrum for a very long time to come.”

Following the ribbon cutting, The 11:11 will host an open house through 6pm. Guests will see the remodeled and upgraded theatre space and a lobby that includes a lounge area and café boasting a retro, 70s, rock & roll vibe. Hors d’ouvres and cocktails will be served.

Announcing: Naked Boys Singing!

“NAKED BOYS SINGING!” IS BACK
LIMITED ENGAGEMENT BEGINS SEPTEMBER 17 AT MACHA THEATRE
OPENING SET FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 AT 8PM

The musical comedy revue “Naked Boys Singing!” comes home to Los Angeles with performances beginning September 17 at the Macha Theatre in West Hollywood.  Produced by Macha Theatre/Films-Odalys Nanin and TANK Productions, this international entertainment sensation opens on Friday, September 25 and will run through November 22 only.

Conceived and directed by Robert Schrock, “Naked Boys Singing!” had its world premiere at Celebration Theatre in Hollywood on March 28, 1998.  It has since had over 50 productions worldwide, including a nine-city tour through Norway and a 30-city tour through Holland and Belgium; in Rome, Sydney, London, Mexico City, San Juan, Madrid, Barcelona, Capetown, Athens and Lisbon.  The show is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary off-Broadway in New York City and has had productions in Florida, Oregon, Maine, New Orleans, Texas, Chicago, Indiana, Ohio and Washington, DC, among many others.  A film version of “Naked Boys Singing!” was made by Funny Boy Films and released by TLA in December, 2007.

“Naked Boys Singing!” features the songwriting talents of Stephen Bates, Marie Cain, Perry Hart, Shelly Markham, Jim Morgan, David Pevsner, Mark Savage, Ben Schaechter, Robert Schrock, Rayme Sciaroni, Trance Thompson, Bruce Vilanch and Mark Winkler.  The cast, in alphabetical order, is:  Eric B. Anthony, Jack Harding, Timothy Hearl, Marco Infante, Jeffrey A. Johns, Tony Melson, Daniel Rivera and Victor Tang.

The set and lighting design for “Naked Boys Singing!” is by Carey Dunn (who also serves as stage manager), costume design is by Byron Batista and casting is by Raul Staggs.  Gerald Sternbach is the musical director.

Preview performances begin Thursday, September 17 and the engagement will run through Sunday, November 22.  Opening night is set for Friday, September 25 at 8:00.  The playing schedule is Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm.  All seats are $34.95.
