The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced a special, one night only performance by two legendary drag icons, Jackie Beat and Sherry Vine, in Battle of the Bitches. On Sunday, March 26 at 7pm at the Center’s Renberg Theatre, the two formidable queens will go head to head in a no-holds-barred, anything goes, musical melee.

Celebrating the 25^th anniversary of their friendship, Ms. Beat and Ms. Vine will take each other on in a singing contest unlike any other. Blindly choosing topics from a hat, each diva will belt out one of her world-famous, sick ’n twisted song parodies, each determined to out–sing, outshine, and out–scandalize the other. It’s all fiery ’n fierce. The gloves are off, the claws are out, and may the best bitch win!

Battle of the Bitches has wowed audiences in Anchorage, Fire Island, Long Beach, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Syracuse, and on the largest gay cruise in history aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas for Atlantis Events. Jackie and Sherry’s electric onstage chemistry has been honed through a quarter century of performing together in such shows as Wigstock, the Off-Broadway hit Tell-Tale, and sold out runs as Dorothy and Blanche in The Golden Girlz Live.

It’s time once again to “get ready to match the stars” with a new edition of Dennis Hensley’s The MisMatch Game, the show the Los Angeles Times calls, “witty, ribald … an adventure in surrealist era bending.” The side-splitting parody of the 70s game show returns to the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Renberg Theatre for two hilarious nights on Saturday, July 23 at 8pm and Sunday, July 24 at 7pm.

The cast on Saturday 7/23 will include (in alphabetical order) Julie Brown (Kim Kardashian), Rachel Butera (Rosie O’Donnell), Danny Casillas (Reba Areba), Jackie Clarke (Elizabeth Taylor), Nicol Paone (Arianna Huffington), and Felix Pire (Ricardo Montalban). On Sunday 7/24 the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Jackie Beat (Bea Arthur), Drew Droege (Tanya Roberts), Maile Flanagan (Danny Bonaduce), Tom Lenk (Zooey Deschanel), and Oscar Quintero (Kay Sedia). Creator, producer, and host Dennis “Gene Rayburn” Hensley and company are once again generously donating the proceeds to benefit the Center’s array of free and low-cost services. Since its debut in 2004,The MisMatch Game has raised well over $100,000 for the Los Angeles LGBT Center. With kitschy prizes for volunteer contestants pulled from the audience, it’s time to dig out that leisure suit for another run of the perennial cult favorite.

The MisMatch Game regularly fills the house at its irregularly scheduled gigs at the Renberg Theatre. Audiences keep coming back for the razor’s edge improv and the racy, anarchic, and decidedly un-PC wit and wildness. The Advocate honoredThe MisMatch Game with a “10 Best Theatre” citation that said, “This recurring Los Angeles happening re-imagines the ‘70s TV game show The Match Game with full-camp press and excellent sub-lebrity impersonations.”
