2012 Young Playwrights Festival - The Blank TheatreBenefiting The Blank Theatre, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts organization, honorary host Jennifer Garner will welcome (in alphabetical order) Ed Asner, Barbara Bain, Nicholas Brendon, Brianna Brown, Gordon Clapp, Dale Dickey, Daisy Eagan, Thea Gill, Peri Gilpin, Gale Harold, Lenny Jacobson, Michael E. Knight, Tom Lenk, Scott Lowell, Allison Mack, Virginia Madsen, Angel Parker, Rex Smith, Jennifer Stone, DB Sweeney, Kirsten Vangsness, Gedde Watanabe, Virginia Williams, and Noah Wyle as they perform scenes, songs, and speeches from 20 years of The Blank’s Young Playwrights Festival. Artists subject to change. This one night only event will take place on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 6pm, at Avalon Hollywood.

A BENEFIT CONCERT TO AID RELIEF EFFORTS

IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CATALINA JAZZ CLUB
MONDAY, APRIL 11 AT 8PM

In response to the devastating events in Japan, producers Daisy Eagan and James Mooney, in association with the Catalina Jazz Club, have announced Cabaret Cares: Songs for Japan, a one-night-only event on Monday, April 11 at 8pm. Proceeds will support the Japanese Business Association Foundation. The JBA is working directly with the Japanese Consulate to ensure that the money raised on this evening will make it directly to the people working “on the ground” right now.

Stars from the worlds of Broadway, television, music and cabaret will come together to show their support, entertain, and help raise money to assist with Japan’s monumental crisis. The performers, in alphabetical order, are scheduled to include Danielle Bisutti & Rob Mullins, Jim J Bullock, comedian Bill Burr, Daisy Eagan, Delious Kennedy (All 4 One), Lee Lessack, Andrea Marcovicci, Sharon McKnight, Valarie Pettiford, and The Sklar Brothers (Comedy Central). Daisy EaganThe popular Show at Barre series will welcome Tony Award-winner Daisy Eagan as she makes a rare cabaret appearance on Saturday, July 17 at 8pm.  Still Daisy After All These Years is everything you always wanted to know about Daisy Eagan but were afraid to ask.

The youngest female ever to win a Tony Award will take the audience on a journey through her life and career, starting with her illustrious debut as a bag of wool through the ups and downs of her life onstage and off.

Daisy began her career in show business at the age of two, playing a bag of wool in a pre-school production of Baa Baa Black Sheep.  From there, she went on to become the youngest female ever to win a Tony Award for her performance as Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden, for which she also received Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations.  She has performed in many other stage productions, including Les Misérables and James Joyce’s The Dead on Broadway, as well as world premiere productions of Be Aggressive (La Jolla Playhouse) and Christopher Shinn’s On the Mountain (South Coast Rep).  Daisy won a 2006 LA Weekly Award for her performance as Sally in the Blank Theatre Company’s production of Michael John LaChiusa’s The Wild Party.  She has appeared in several films and television shows, including Losing Isaiah, Ripe, Without a Trace, The Unit, and Ghost Whisperer.

Tickets for Still Daisy After All These Years are $20 and available in advance online only at www.showatbarre.com.  Advance buyers will receive priority seating.  Tickets will also be available at the door, pending availability.  There is a two item food/drink minimum; guests are encouraged to arrive early (doors open at 6pm) and enjoy Barre VT’s world-class cuisine, inventive cocktails and exceptional service.  The show is at 8pm.  Barre, VT is part of the Vermont/Rockwell Restaurant complex, and is located at 1714 N.
