Chris Isaacson Presents and the City of Los Angeles have announced that Grammy Award-winning recording artist and Motown legend Thelma Houston in her show My Motown Memories & More! has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 15 at 7:30pm at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center. All previously purchased Ford Amphitheatre tickets will be honored for the new date.
Perhaps best known for her number one international hit “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” Thelma Houston takes her audience on a musical and inspirational journey that chronicles her illustrious career. Sharing intimate stories and behind-the-scenes adventures against a tapestry of more than 20 classic Motown hits, Houston performs songs originally recorded by Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and more, leading up to her iconic Grammy Award–winning number one pop song “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” After 50 years of performing, 23 studio albums, and winning a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Houston continues to celebrate her long and outstanding career. The concert will be directed by Iona Morris and choreographed by Damita Freeman. The musical director is Darrell Alston. Special guests are Quattrosound and Johnny Britt.

Helmed by founder Bonnie Joy Sludikoff, local non-profit campaign That’s What She Didn’t Say is partnering with Chromolume Theatre at the Attic in Los Angeles to present the 2nd Annual Outdoor Voices Festival. The campaign and the festival share the same mission — creating healthy conversations. Last year’s inaugural event presented five productions, and this year’s festival will present 10 productions, which is approximately one third of submissions received.
From the playwright and producers of Hit the Wall comes the West Coast premiere of Exit Strategy by acclaimed Chicago playwright Ike Holter. First produced in Chicago in 2014 and then off-Broadway in 2016, this fiery and poetic play will be directed by Deena Selenow. Three preview performances are scheduled for September 26, 27, and 28, and opening is set for Friday, September 29 at 8pm. The run will continue through November 5 in the Davidson/Valentini Theatre.
