NEWS RELEASE ▪︎ JACKIE BEAT and SHERRY VINE in “BATTLE OF THE BITCHES” ▪︎ SUNDAY 3/26 at 7pm — LOS ANGELES LGBT CENTER’s RENBERG THEATRE

The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s

Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center

Presents

BATTLE of the BITCHES

Starring JACKIE BEAT and SHERRY VINE

ONE NIGHT ONLY

Sunday, March 26 at 7pm

The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced a special, one night only performance by two legendary drag icons, Jackie Beat and Sherry Vine, in Battle of the Bitches. On Sunday, March 26 at 7pm at the Center’s Renberg Theatre, the two formidable queens will go head to head in a no-holds-barred, anything goes, musical melee.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their friendship, Ms. Beat and Ms. Vine will take each other on in a singing contest unlike any other. Blindly choosing topics from a hat, each diva will belt out one of her world-famous, sick ’n twisted song parodies, each determined to out–sing, outshine, and out–scandalize the other. It’s all fiery ’n fierce. The gloves are off, the claws are out, and may the best bitch win!

Battle of the Bitches has wowed audiences in Anchorage, Fire Island, Long Beach, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Syracuse, and on the largest gay cruise in history aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas for Atlantis Events. Jackie and Sherry’s electric onstage chemistry has been honed through a quarter century of performing together in such shows as Wigstock, the Off-Broadway hit Tell-Tale, and sold out runs as Dorothy and Blanche in The Golden Girlz Live.

General admission tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at www.lalgbtcenter.org/theatre or by phone at (323) 860-7300. Net proceeds from all ticket sales will support the full range of free and low-cost programs and services offered by the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Renberg Theatre is located at 1125 N. McCadden Place (one block east of Highland, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard), in Hollywood, 90038. During construction of the Center’s new facility, free parking is limited. Please allow extra time to find parking, or choose public transportation or a ride service such as Lyft or Uber.

NEWS RELEASE ▪︎ JASON KRAVITS: OFF THE TOP! — SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 at 8pm — ROCKWELL TABLE & STAGE

ALL THE SONGS THAT MADE HIM FAMOUS,
HE’LL BE MAKING UP TONIGHT.
TELEVISION AND BROADWAY FAVORITE
JASON KRAVITS
RETURNS TO ROCKWELL TABLE & STAGE
WITH HIS ACCLAIMED TOTALLY IMPROVISED CABARET
OFF THE TOP!
ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 AT 8PM

Jason KravitsAn entire cabaret show made up on the spot. Who does that? Television and Broadway veteran Jason Kravits pulls off the improbable (or at the very least, unadvisable) in OFF the TOP!, one of the most hilariously spontaneous evenings of cabaret you’re likely to see. After a wildly successful evening at Rockwell Table and Stage in October, 2016, Kravits is returning to Los Angeles for one show only on Sunday, February 12 at 8pm.

A man, a band, completely unplanned. Backed by Alex Burke and the most daring band in the business, Kravits invents an entire show —music, lyrics, stories, characters—completely from scratch, based solely on audience suggestions. Patter songs, showstoppers, eleven-o’clock numbers, showbiz anecdotes, flashbacks, sob stories, casually dropped names, humblebrags, and overshares—made up. On the spot. OFF the TOP! An entirely new show. Every time.

Jason Kravits has been appearing on stage and on screens large and small for over 30 years. Perhaps best known for his long-running role as Richard Bay on ABC’s The Practice, he has had recurring roles on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Madam Secretary, Smash, The Michael J. Fox Show, Royal Pains, and Dallas. Other TV credits include on Blindspot, The Blacklist, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hot in Cleveland, Married, Masters of Sex, Raising Hope, 30 Rock, The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls and Everybody Loves Raymond. Film credits include Chinese Puzzle, The Stepford Wives, Sweet November, Morning Glory, and What Just Happened. On Broadway, Kravits made a splash with his work in the hit musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone. Other stage credits include Sly Fox and most recently, Relatively Speaking, three original one-acts by Ethan Coen, Elaine May, and Woody Allen. Kravits is a founding member of The Rumble in the Red Room writing collective, as well as the improv troupe Erasable, Inc., and he is a member of the Actors Center Workshop Company. OFF the TOP! will play one performance only on Sunday, February 12 at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now and admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 for cocktail and dinner service (minimums apply). Purchase tickets online at www.rockwell-la.com or by phone at (323) 669-1550. Rockwell Table and Stage is located at 1714 N. Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles, 90027.
