Erich BergenErich Bergen, currently starring as Billy Crocker in the national tour of Anything Goes, is set to bring his one-night-only concert to San Francisco’s premiere nightclub, Live At The RRazz, on Monday, January 28 at 8pm. Anything Goes is currently playing at the Golden Gate Theatre through February 3. Of Bergen’s performance, Rob Hurwitt in The San Francisco Chronicle, said, “ … the hopeless romantic Billy Crocker [is] embodied by the wonderful Erich Bergen with leading man charisma, fine song-and-dance chops, and comic versatility.”

Erich Bergen is perhaps best known for his critically acclaimed performance as Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio in the first national tour and Las Vegas companies of the Broadway smash Jersey Boys. Other stage work includes A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum for Reprise Theatre Company, Venice for Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, and A Snow White Christmas for Lythgoe Family Productions. Bergen’s television credits include Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, Person of Interest, and Franklin & Bash. He will make his feature film debut starring opposite Erika Christensen, Joe Piscopo, and Paul Sorvino in How Sweet It Is, scheduled for a 2013 release. Last summer, he played the title role in Hero, a world premiere musical at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Bergen is also an accomplished songwriter and recording artist. His debut CD, The Vegas Sessions, is available on iTunes and at Amazon.com.

Announcing: 2013 Directors Lab West Applications Available Now

2013 DIRECTORS LAB WEST DATES SET, MAY 18-25

Directors Lab West Steering Committee has announced the dates for the 14th annual Directors Lab West. The 2013 Lab will take place May 18-25 in residence at Pasadena Playhouse. The Lab will continue its tradition of bringing together dedicated theatre directors, choreographers and master artists for a week of intense discussions and exploration of the art form.

Attendance is by application only, and there is no cost to participate in the Lab. Applications and further information may be found at: www.directorslabwest.com. Deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, March 29 at 5:00pm.

Directors Lab West fosters an intensive laboratory environment where a community of directors and choreographers inspire each other to dream and create the future of American Theatre. The Lab, which was spun off of Lincoln Center Theater’s Directors Lab in 2000, seeks theatre directors and choreographers to participate in a week long series of workshops, panels, roundtables, and symposia with some of the nation’s leading theatre artists. In the last 13 years, over 100 acclaimed artists have given their time to the Lab, including Jason Alexander, Julie Arenal, Paris Barclay, Cirque Berzerk, Kay Cole, Gordon Davidson, George Furth, Ming Cho Lee, Marc Masterson, Janet Miller, Randy Newman, Vincent Paterson, Stephen Wadsworth and Charlayne Woodard.
