Fritz ColemanThe Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced four performances of An Evening with Fritz Coleman from October 19–22.
The forecast is for fun and laughter when An Evening with Fritz Coleman arrives on the Colony stage. Everyone’s favorite weatherman shares his hilarious, insightful take on growing up and growing older. He proves that aging isn’t pretty … but it’s pretty funny! NBC4’s weathercaster for the past 35 years, Coleman has made eight appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, and he is a three-time Emmy Award-winner.

An Evening with Fritz Coleman completes the Colony’s It’s Showtime series which began in July and included Reign Morton’s ICONversations: A Musical Tribute to the Masters, Magic Mania, I’d Enjoy Being a Girl … On Broadway! starring Mark C. Reis, and a concert presentation of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.

The running schedule is Thursday 10/19 at 8pm, Friday 10/20 at 8pm, Saturday 10/21 at 8pm, and Sunday 10/22 at 3pm. I'd Rather Be a Girl...on Broadway!The Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced a four-performance run of I’d Enjoy Being a Girl … On Broadway! from September 14–17. Starring Mark C. Reis, the show is directed by Michele Lynch and features choreography by Lisa Mandel and musical direction by Scott Harlan.

Humorous, uplifting, and inspiring, I’d Enjoy Being a Girl … On Broadway! brings writer, performer, and dancer Mark C. Reis to the Colony with his solo show. Through an abundance of music and dance, the Broadway veteran explores how to continue surviving in his career and ponders how different his success in musical theatre might have been had he been a girl.

Mark C. Reis has worked from summer stock to Broadway with National Tours, European Tours, Radio City Music Hall, and Regional work in between. His many stage credits include productions of Fosse (Broadway), Jesus Christ Superstar, 42nd Street, Funny Girl, Paint Your Wagon (Goodspeed Musicals), Red, Hot and Blue (Paper Mill Playhouse), The Wizard of Oz (Tuacahn Amphitheatre), Elf (TUTS), Cabaret (Reprise), Chicago (several different productions and at the Hollywood Bowl), The Producers and The Wedding Singer (Musical Theatre West). Most recently Reis was seen in Mary Poppins at MTW and Spamalot with 3D Theatricals. He currently appears in the live Frozen show at Disneyland.

Said Reis, “I am thrilled to have my work included in the Colony’s It’s Showtime! series. I’ve always loved the theatre and dreamed of performing there. I never thought it could happen, but here I come!”

Reign MortonICONversations, a musical journey with vocal artist Reign Morton, will play four performances only at the Colony Theatre in Burbank from July 20–23. Singing the songs that have stood the test of time from musical artists like Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Prince, Whitney Houston, Donny Hathaway, and Michael Jackson, Morton weaves a musical love letter to his father via creative storytelling and incredible music. Joining Morton in the show is Maiya Sykes, Postmodern Jukebox front woman and finalist on NBC’s The Voice. The tribute concert is directed by Kinnik Sky and features musical direction by Grammy Award-winner Dave Yaden.

Reign Morton is a recognized singer, songwriter, actor, and writer. He has appeared in films, theatre, and daytime and primetime TV. His most notable role as Cashius Kibideaux on General Hospital for which he earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Daytime Drama along with his cast. His recent credits include Whitney Houston’s biopic Whitney (as Eddie Murphy), The New Edition Story, E! Entertainment’s Clean House, For the Record: Tarantino, and the PureFlix.com series Hilton Head Island. Morton has worked alongside industry greats, from being directed by Angela Bassett and Antoine Fuqua to being coached by music legend Stevie Wonder. He has traveled internationally as a musician in Paris, Japan, and Canada. His work in Paris includes a chart-topping song, “Speed Dating,” which features the group Klan Kil-êla.

Morton has taken on a Producer/Performer role with ICONversations. This debut stage production is part musical love letter to his father and part tribute concert honoring iconic music legends. Said Morton, “It’s such an honor to present this show in such a historic and beautiful space as the Colony Theatre. Truly humbling.”

Director Kinnik Sky is a veteran of stage, television, and film. An American Idol finalist, she has appeared in countless plays and musicals over the last 20 years including Dreamgirls, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, and Madea’s Class Reunion. In 2010, she launched her production company Dazzal Mi (Dazzle Me) Entertainment. Under the company’s banner, Sky has written, produced, and starred in several stage productions and web series. To date, Dazzal Mi has received nine NAACP Theatre Award nominations and garnered five wins.

Musical Director Dave Yaden is a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and pianist who has played and written with some of the best in the business, including Josh Kelley, Pierce the Veil, Tonic, Spin Doctors, Tyler Hilton, Lady Antebellum, Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Mindi Abair, and many others. His ‘Billy Joel meets The Band’ sound is classic rock with touches of modern pop and Americana.
