The Story of My Life is an intimate one-act musical that candidly explores the simplicity of human need and the complexity of emotions under which it lies. Lifelong friends Alvin and Thomas embark on a journey of remembrance following Thomas’s death. Through music and song, the men recount their adventures, explore their past dissonance, and ultimately discover what’s at the base of every strong friendship … love. Running time is 90 minutes.

After runs at Canadian Stage Company (2006) and the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut (2008), The Story of My Life made its Broadway debut in 2009. Amazon.com describes the musical as, “an authentic and affecting work, told through a series of songs in turn playful, touching, and dramatic.” One New York critic predicted, “When the original cast recording comes out, see if you don’t find yourself moved to Google the name of some long-lost friend with whom you simply lost touch. The Story of My Life inspires us to reconnect with those who were part of the earliest chapters of our own life stories.”The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.
