Writer/performer Emily Goglia is set for one Hollywood Fringe Festival Encore! Producers’ Award performance of her acclaimed solo show STAGES: Girl Meets Boy, Boy Meets Boy, Girl Meets Drink on Friday, June 29, at 9pm at Three Clubs Lounge on Vine Street.

Join Emily on her hilarious quest to re-calibrate her fractured psyche after being face-slammed by a previously hidden closet door – suddenly thrown open by her boyfriend! STAGES is a bittersweet journey through the five stages of a break-up, complete with song, dance, and a whole lot of coping mechanisms. Music direction is by Emily Rosenfield. Running time is 75 minutes.

Emily Goglia is a singer, actor, and dancer raised in Los Angeles. She recently sang with Christina Aguilera in her MasterClass online video, was seen in FOX’s Grease, Live! and on NBC’s The Sing Off, leading the fierce female powerhouse group ELEMENT. Theatre credits include Maureen in Rent, Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Carrie in Carousel, and Maria in West Side Story. STAGES has been performed at New York’s hottest supper clubs including Feinstein’s/54 Below and The Metropolitan Room as well as at LA’s Rockwell Table & Stage. Throughout the year, Goglia travels the world with the USO Show troupe performing for the military and their families.

It was announced today that Anita Tony, ‘Broadway’s Leading Drag Queen’ and winner of Best in Drag 2017, will bring her magical show A Few of My Favorite Things to Oscar’s Cafe & Bar in Palm Springs for one performance only on Saturday, September 1, at 9:30pm.

From the Great White Way to local piano bars, theatre fans agree on one thing: the archetypal Broadway star is a woman. Anita Tony is ‘Broadway’s Leading Drag Queen’ and the winner of Best in Drag 2017. She embodies the greatest ladies of the stage. A Few of My Favorite Things is a sampling of iconic leading ladies, their beloved songs, and the composers who helped them create the magic of Broadway.

Anita Tony is the creation of Joshua Skidmore. Recently seen in the national tour of it gets better, his other stage credits include A Streetcar Named Desire at The Kennedy Center opposite Academy Award nominees Patricia Clarkson and Amy Ryan. Television appearances include Veep and The Mindy Project. Skidmore has performed on the stages of Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and at The Wallis in Beverly Hills, among others, and he is a member of The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. NAMED A 2018 PRIDE HONOREE BY
CALIFORNIA LEGISLATIVE LGBT CAUCUS

Daniel Henning, the Founding Artistic Director of Hollywood’s Blank Theatre, has been named a 2018 Pride honoree by the California Legislative LGBT Caucus. A special floor ceremony was held on June 18 during the California State Assembly floor session in Sacramento. Honorees were presented with resolutions in commemoration of their accomplishments and contributions to the LGBT community.

California’s Legislative LGBT Caucus was formed in 2002 to create a forum for the state’s legislators to discuss issues that affect LGBT Californians and to further the goal of equality and justice for all Californians. Formation of the LGBT Caucus made California the first state in the country to recognize an official caucus of openly LGBT state legislators. Previous honorees represent motivated individuals in arts, law, business, and public service. They include Executive Director of Equality California Rick Zbur, journalist Helen Zia, Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black, and Bishop Rev. Dr. Yvette Flunder.

Daniel Henning is a native Californian, born in Oakland and raised in the East Bay. He has been an activist since middle school. His work for LGBTQ Equality includes creating the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Black Cat Protests (the first major LGBTQ demonstration in the US) and directing and hosting the 2017 LA City Council LGBTQ Pride Ceremony. Henning is a director, producer, actor, and writer. His work has been seen on MTV, HBO, CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, and on stages throughout Southern California. He is the Founding Artistic Director of The Blank Theatre in Hollywood, winning over 200 awards for his productions from the LA Drama Critic Circle, LA Weekly, Ovations, NAACP, and more. Henning has been inspirational to thousands of young artists through his work in The Blank’s Young Playwrights Festival (the only professional nationwide competition for playwrights aged nine to 19, which he founded 26 years ago) including Tony Award-winning playwright Stephen Karam, who was a three-time winner in the Festival. Henning has written, developed, and produced many plays about the LGBTQ experience and raised thousands of dollars for Equality causes.
