As the new network television season nears, this is a great time for both new-to-the-business and ‘working’ actors to refresh the page on their approach to their professional careers. Talent manager, educator, and author Brad Lemack will begin that conversation at a book discussion and signing for The New Business of Acting: How to Build a Career in a Changing Landscape at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, located at 695 East Colorado Boulevard, on Sunday, July 30, at 4pm.
Lemack established his firm Lemack & Company Talent Management/Public Relations in 1982 and over the years has represented and crafted the brands of a diverse array of developing artists and legacy talent. Details on the company’s history and cumulative client list are available at LemackCo.com.
The Business of Acting course was created by Lemack for the Emerson College Los Angeles campus in the late 1990s and he has been teaching the course ever since. He is also on the faculty of the Elon University Los Angeles Program. His first book, The Business of Acting: Learn the Skills You Need to Build the Career You Want, was first published in 2002 and has enjoyed several re-printings since. Lemack hosts the Web TV series Inside the Business of Acting and writes The Business of Acting Blog.

ICONversations, a musical journey with vocal artist Reign Morton, will play four performances only at the Colony Theatre in Burbank from July 20–23. Singing the songs that have stood the test of time from musical artists like Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Prince, Whitney Houston, Donny Hathaway, and Michael Jackson, Morton weaves a musical love letter to his father via creative storytelling and incredible music. Joining Morton in the show is Maiya Sykes, Postmodern Jukebox front woman and finalist on NBC’s The Voice. The tribute concert is directed by Kinnik Sky and features musical direction by Grammy Award-winner Dave Yaden.
