The Odyssey Theatre and The Porters of Hellsgate have announced return engagements of Sherlock Through The Looking-Glass, written and directed by Gus Krieger, and Larry Cedar’s Orwellian, at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles. The two productions will run in repertory beginning November 8 for seven weeks only through December 22.

In 1885 London, seemingly disparate citizens are falling victim to a plague of madness which continually evokes, in increasingly curious ways, the whimsical worlds of Lewis Carroll. As the mystery deepens, the only thing becoming clearer is the proper man for the job. But what happens when Sherlock Holmes — the world’s foremost logician — enters a realm where logic does not exist? Surprising, dark, humorous, and classically-minded, Sherlock Through The Looking-Glass explores the nature of reality, the choices we make, and the legacy we leave.

Orwellian, a solo show developed and performed by Larry Cedar (Deadwood, The Crazies), is a dark examination of the work of an author so prescient that his name has become an adjective. The audience will enter the dystopian world of George Orwell via this one-hour adaptation based on three of his most popular books. Through his literary prism, visit the chaotic kitchens of Down & Out in Paris & London, a barnyard on the brink of creature revolt in Animal Farm, and the futuristic hell that is 1984.

The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company gave Sherlock Through The Looking-Glass its world premiere in August of this year at the Whitmore Theatre in North Hollywood. Orwellian had a brief run at Theatre of Note during the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Sherlock Through The Looking-Glass opens Friday, November 8 at 8pm, and will run Fridays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm (no performance on November 29). Orwellian opens Saturday, November 9 at 8pm and will run Thursdays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm (no performance on Thanksgiving Day; added performance on Friday, November 29 at 8pm).
